Fuel Gauge
- Disconnect fuel gauge wire connector at fuel tank. Verify continuity between terminals 1 and 3. Connect 21 ohm resistance in series between terminals 1 and 2. See Fig 1 . Gauge should indicate full.
- If problem still cannot be isolated, apply 100 ohm resistance in series between terminals 1 and 2. Next, connect 150 ohm resistance in series between terminals 2 and 3. Gauge should register full. If gauge readings are incorrect, replace the unit.
CAUTION:
Keeping the wire grounded too long can damage coils in gauge. Perform test as quickly as possible.
