Valve Springs: Notes

  1. With camshaft and rocker arm assembly removed, use valve spring compressor to remove retainer locks. Remove all retainers, springs, spring seats and valves, keeping in proper order for reassembly.
  2. Check valve spring free length and installed height. Installed height is measured between spring seat and bottom of retainer. Measurement should be 1.417-1.456" (36-37 mm). Standard spring squareness should be 1.5° or less. If beyond 3° replace spring.
