Removal Procedure
IMPORTANT:
You must perform the BCM theft deterrent relearn procedure after replacement of the ignition switch lock cylinder.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
- Remove the radio. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the ignition switch bezel from the ignition switch lock cylinder, using a small flat-bladed tool.
- Insert the key and turn the ignition switch lock cylinder to the ON position.IMPORTANT: Ignition cylinder will not rotate or is seized.
- Follow procedure in ignition switch replacement. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement .
- Using a small flat-bladed tool, depress and hold the lock cylinder retaining tab from the radio access hole.
- Using the key, pull to remove the ignition switch lock cylinder from the ignition switch.
- Remove the key from the ignition switch lock cylinder.
