LOW OIL Indicator

IPC illuminates LOW OIL indicator when one of the following occurs:

• Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a low engine oil level condition (signal circuit is high) for a brief period between key on and engine crank. IPC receives a class 2 message from PCM requesting illumination. LOW OIL indicator illuminates for 60 seconds at start of each ignition cycle when low engine oil level condition is present.
• IPC performs displays test at start of each ignition cycle. Indicator illuminates for about 3 seconds.
