BRAKE Indicator

IPC illuminates BRAKE indicator when one of the following occurs:

• Body Control Module (BCM) detects that park brake is engaged. IPC receives a class 2 message from BCM requesting illumination. If vehicle is shifted out of park with park brake engaged, BCM activates an audible warning.
• IPC detects a low brake fluid condition (signal circuit is low).
• IPC performs displays test at start of each ignition cycle. Indicator illuminates for about 3 seconds.
• IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with EBCM.
