Circuit Description
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) uses an oscillator to send and interpret data between other components on class 2 serial data line. It sends or receives different bytes of information between IPC and other vehicle components. When vehicle is first turned on, an internal test is performed by IPC to determine if oscillator is operating properly.
DTC B0602 will set when IPC is unsuccessful at verifying operation of oscillator or when oscillator is disrupted by outside radio frequency interference. When DTC B0602 is set, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator will illuminate.
A current DTC B0602 becomes a history DTC after an ignition cycle. A history DTC B0602 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if condition for setting DTC is no longer present. DTC will also clear when scan tool is used to clear DTCs.
