Fasten Seat Belt Reminder

BCM activates fasten seat belt audible warning with associated chime frequency at a slow rate and duration of 8 seconds. Fasten seat belt warning sounds and fasten seat belt indicator illuminates when the following occurs:

• Ignition switch transitions to RUN position.
• BCM detects that driver seat belt is not buckled and signal circuit is low. BCM sends a class 2 message to IPC requesting illumination of fasten safety belt indicator.

If seat belt is buckled when ignition is turned to RUN position, chime does not sound. If seat belt is buckled while chime is sounding, chime stops. If seat belt is unbuckled after initial ignition switch transition to RUN position, chime does not sound.
