Turn Signal Chime Inoperative
- Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Observe operation of turn signal indicators on Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). Move turn signal switch to left, and then to right position. Turn signal indicator should flash with corresponding turn signal lever position. If turn signal indicator operates as specified, go to next step. If turn signal indicator does not operate as specified, go to step 5 .
- Test drive vehicle. If speedometer operates, go to next step. If speedometer does not operate, go to step 6 .
- Connect scan tool to DLC and check for PCM DTCs. If PCM DTCs are present, go to appropriate DTC diagnosis and repair procedure under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no PCM DTCs are present, go to step 7 .
- Turn signal indicators are inoperative due to malfunction in turn signal lamps. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article. After repairs, go to step 8 .
- Turn signal indicators are inoperative due to malfunction in Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) circuit. Go to POWERTRAIN ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. After repairs, go to step 8 .
- Replace and reprogram BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article. After repairs, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off and reconnect all disconnected components and connectors. Connect scan tool to DLC and check for BCM DTCs. If BCM DTCs are present, go to appropriate DTC diagnosis and repair procedure in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article. If no BCM DTCs are present, system is okay.
