PRNDL Display Inaccurate Or Inoperative

  1. Perform POWERTRAIN ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Go to next step.
  2. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Go to next step.
  3. Verify PRNDL display operation. If display is operating normally, check for intermittent loose, corroded or broken wiring or connections. If display is not operating normally, go to next step.
  4. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  5. Start engine, step on brake pedal and operate gear shifter to confirm proper PRNDL operation. If problem is still present, go back to step  4 .
