Change Engine Oil Indicator Inoperative

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on. Select ENGINE DATA 2, and observe engine oil life percent displayed. If scan tool display reads 0 percent with CHANGE ENGINE OIL message inoperative, go to next step. If scan tool display is not 0 percent, system is operation normally.
  3. Replace instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  4. Confirm proper warning indicator operation. If problem is still present, go back to step  2 .
