Change Engine Oil Indicator Always On

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition on. Select ENGINE DATA 2, and observe engine oil life percent displayed. If scan tool display reads 0 percent with CHANGE ENGINE OIL message on, go to next step. If scan tool display is not as specified, go to step  4 .
  3. Reset CHANGE ENGINE OIL message. Go to step  5 .
  4. Replace instrument panel cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  5. Turn ignition on. Select ENGINE DATA 2, and observe engine oil life percent displayed. If scan tool display reads 100 percent, system is okay. If scan tool display is not as specified, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
