Diagnostic Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. If scan tool turns on, go to next step. If scan tool does not come on, go to SCAN TOOL INOPERATIVE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
- Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with the following control modules:
- Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
- Body Control Module (BCM)
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
- Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM)
- Inflatable Restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM)
If scan tool is able to communicate with all of the listed modules, go to next step. If scan tool is not able to communicate with all of the listed modules, go to SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 SERIAL DATA LINE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
- Using scan tool, display Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for previously listed control modules. If any DTCs are set, go to next step. If no DTCs are set, check all gauges and warning lights for proper operation. If any malfunctioning indicators are found, go to appropriate test procedure under SYMPTOM TESTS
.
- Using scan tool, determine if any DTCs starting with "U" are stored. If any "U" Series DTCs are stored, go to appropriate test procedure under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article. If no "U" Series DTCs are stored, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, determine if DTC B1000 is stored. If DTC B1000 is stored, go to DTC B1000: INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) MALFUNCTION
. If DTC B1000 is not stored, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - INTRIGUE article.
