Test B: Abs Warning Indicator On, No DTCS Stored (Intrigue)

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 8-pin EBTCM connector C2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Using DVOM, measure resistance between negative battery terminal and ground circuit (Black or Black/White wire) of EBTCM connector C2 while wiggling wiring harness and connectors. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 6)  .
  3. Disconnect 24-pin EBTCM connector C1. Using DVOM, measure resistance between positive battery terminal and battery feed circuit (Orange wire) of EBTCM connector C1 while wiggling wiring harness and connectors. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 7)  .
  4. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure resistance between positive battery terminal and switched ignition circuit (Pink wire) of EBTCM connector C1 while wiggling wiring harness and connectors. If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 8)  .
  5. Check positive battery terminal and positive battery cable terminal for poor connection. Check EBTCM connector terminals for poor terminal contact, corrosion or damage. If connectors and cable are faulty, go to step 9)  . If connectors and cable are okay, go to step 10)  .
  6. Repair intermittent, open or high resistance in ground circuit (Black or Black/White wire).
  7. Repair intermittent, open or high resistance in battery feed circuit (Orange wire), or in power supply circuit.
  8. Repair intermittent, open or high resistance in switched ignition circuit (Pink wire), in power supply circuit or in ignition switch supply circuit.
  9. Replace faulty terminals. Repair battery cable to battery connection as necessary.
  10. Turn ignition off. Reconnect all connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, display DTCs. If ABS warning indicator illuminates with no DTCs set, go to next step. If ABS warning indicator does not illuminate with no DTCs set, see INTERMITTENTS & POOR CONNECTIONS.
  11. Replace EBTCM.
