DTC C1345: Right TCS Channel Will Not Move (Century & Regal)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Check 4-pin TCS motor pack connector and 8-pin EBTCM connector C3 for proper wire color/connector cavity combination. If wires are properly located in connector cavities, go to next step. If wires are not properly located in connector cavities, go to step 11)  .
  3. Raise and support vehicle so that drive wheels are about 6 inches off the ground. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Pump brake pedal until firm to deplete brake booster vacuum reservoir. Install scan tool. Using scan tool, select MISC TESTS and then select MANUAL CONTROL. Ensure no downward pressure exists on brake pedal. Using scan tool, select right TCS MOTOR RELEASE, and release right TCS motor. Attempt to rotate right wheel by hand. If right wheel rotates, go to next step. If right wheel does not rotate, go to step 5)  .
  4. Ensure no downward pressure exists on brake pedal. Using scan tool, select right TCS MOTOR APPLY, and apply right TCS motor. Attempt to rotate right wheel by hand. If right wheel rotates, go to next step. If right wheel does not rotate, go to step 17)  .
  5. Ensure no downward pressure exists on brake pedal. Using scan tool, select right TCS MOTOR RELEASE, and release right TCS motor. Observe right TCS motor commanded current and right TCS motor feedback current. If feedback current was equal to or less than 8 amps, go to step 10)  . If feedback current was greater than 8 amps, go to next step.
  6. Using scan tool, exit MANUAL CONTROL. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin TCS motor pack connector. Disconnect 8-pin EBTCM connector C3. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals "E" (Dark Green wire) and "F" (Light Green wire) of EBTCM connector C3. If resistance is infinite, go to next step. If resistance is not infinite, go to step 12)  .
  7. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals "C" (Light Green wire) and "D" (Dark Green wire) of motor pack connector (component side). If resistance is equal to or greater than .2 ohm, go to next step. If resistance is less than .2 ohms, go to step 13)  .
  8. Check 4-pin TCS motor pack connector and harness connector, and 8-pin EBTCM connector C3 and harness connector for poor terminal contact, corrosion or damage. If connectors are faulty, go to step 15)  . If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  9. Turn ignition off. Reconnect EBTCM connector C3. Reconnect 4-pin TCS motor pack connector. Start engine without pressing brake pedal. Test drive vehicle faster than 10 MPH. Stop vehicle and turn ignition switch to OFF position. Repeat drive cycle sequence 2 more times. Using scan tool, display DTCs. If DTC C1345 is set in last 3 drive cycles, go to step 16)  . If DTC C1345 is not set in last 3 drive cycles, go to step 17)  .
  10. Turn ignition off. Remove TCS modulator/motor pack assembly from vehicle. See TCS MODULATOR/MOTOR PACK ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Separate modulator from motor pack. Grasp right modulator gear and attempt to rotate gear. Right gear is furthest forward gear when modulator is installed in vehicle. If gear can be rotated 7 full revolutions lock to lock, go to step 13)  . If gear cannot be rotated 7 full revolutions lock to lock, go to step 14)  .
  11. Disconnect 4-pin TCS motor pack connector. Disconnect 8-pin EBTCM connector C3. Position proper wires into proper connector cavities. After repairs, go to step 9)  .
  12. Repair short between Light Green wire and Dark Green wire.
  13. Replace motor pack.
  14. Replace modulator.
  15. Replace all faulty terminals or connectors.
  16. Replace EBTCM.
  17. Malfunction is not currently present. An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a broken wire inside insulation. Frequency of malfunction can be determined by using enhanced diagnostic function of scan tool. Check for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal-to-wiring connections, or damaged wiring harness.
