DTC B1344: Courtesy Lights Battery Feed Circuit (Open): Testing

  1. If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC B1482 is set, go to DTC B1482: COURTESY LIGHTS CIRCUIT (SHORT TO GROUND)  . If DTC B1482 is not set, go to next step.
  3. Check INADV POWER BUS fuse (15-amp), located in instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is blown, go to step  6 . If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM Natural 10-pin connector C3. Connect test light between BCM harness connector C3, terminal "K" (Orange wire) and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . See Figure . If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step  7 .
  5. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC B1344 is set, go to step  8 . If DTC B1344 is not set, go to step  9 .
  6. Replace INADV POWER BUS fuse. Go to step  10 .
  7. Repair poor connection or open in Orange wire between BCM connector C3 and instrument panel fuse block. Go to step  10 .
  8. Check for poor connection at BCM connector C3, terminal "K" (Orange wire). If connection is okay, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reprogram BCM. See BCM NEW BCM SETUP  under PROGRAMMING. Go to step  10 .
  9. System is operating properly at this time. After any repairs are made, go to next step.
  10. Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If any DTCs are current, perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. If no DTCs are current, system is operating properly.
