Removal & Installation

NOTE:
Passlock(R) sensor is part of ignition switch assembly.
Remove instrument panel sound insulator panels located in driver and passenger footwell. Remove instrument cluster. See ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - ALERO & GRAND AM article. Pry ignition switch bezel off. Remove steering column upper cover. Remove ignition switch bolts and disconnect electrical connector. Disconnect ignition lock cable from ignition switch. See Fig 1 . Remove ignition switch from vehicle. Insert key into ignition switch and rotate key to ON position. Depress cylinder release plunger located at the 4 o'clock position and pull key and lock assembly from ignition housing. To install, reverse removal procedure. Program new Passlock(R) sensor.
