WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Buick Regal and 1999 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition on. Press TIRE RESET switch in fuse box. If LOW TIRE light turns off, go to next step. If LOW TIRE light does not turn off, go to step  3 .
  2. The system is okay and properly monitoring all components.
  3. Connect scan tool to data link connector and turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check EBCM/EBTCM for DTC 1245. If code 1245 is set, go to step  5 . If code 1245 is not set, go to next step.
  4. Suspect a problem in instrument panel.
  5. Using scan tool, check EBCM/EBTCM for DTCs. If any codes are set, go to next step. If no codes are set, go to step  7 .
  6. If scan tool displays trouble codes, go to appropriate Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) for repairs.
  7. Using scan tool, monitor Body Control Module (BCM) inputs. If scan tool shows ACTIVE when TIRE RESET switch is pushed, go to next step. If scan does not show ACTIVE when TIRE RESET switch is pushed, go to step  9 .
  8. Go to DTC 1245  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
  9. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure circuit No. 1055 between BCM terminal C10 and ground. If there is battery voltage while TIRE RESET button is pushed and 2 volts while switch is released go to next step. If there is not battery voltage while TIRE RESET button is pushed and not 2 volts while switch is released go to step  11 .
  10. See BODY CONTROL MODULES article under COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT.
  11. Turn ignition on and disconnect TIRE RESET switch. Using DVOM, measure voltage between terminals K1 and K2 of fuse block. If voltage is not battery voltage, go to step 13)  . If voltage is battery voltage, go to next step.
  12. Replace TIRE RESET switch.
  13. Using DVOM, measure voltage between TIRE RESET switch terminal K2 and ground. If voltage is not battery voltage, go to step 15)  . If voltage is battery voltage, go to next step.
  14. Repair circuit No. 1550 for an open or high resistance between terminal K1 of TIRE RESET switch and splice S211.
  15. Repair circuit No. 1550 for an open or high resistance between terminal K2 of TIRE RESET switch and BCM terminal C10 of connector C1 (Pink).
