Testing Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Buick Regal and 1999 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Run AUTOMATED TEST. If DTC C1272 resets, go to next step. If DTC C1272 does not reset, see INTERMITTENTS & POOR CONNECTIONS  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  3. Replace EBTCM.
