Testing Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1999 Buick Regal and 1999 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM harness connector. Check EBCM/EBTCM and harness connector for damaged, pushed out or miswired terminals. Repair as necessary and go to next step. If no damage if found, go to next step.
  3. Reconnect all connectors. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Test drive vehicle while monitoring ABS data. If DTC resets, go to next step.
  4. Replace EBCM/EBTCM.
