Fasten Seat Belt Chime Always On

Disconnect seat belt buckle connector. Turn ignition on. If fasten seat belt chime stops, go to next step. If fasten seat belt chime does not stop, go to step 3 .
Replace seat belt buckle assembly. After repairs, recheck system operation.
Remove terminal B12 (Black/White wire) from right instrument panel junction block connector C-3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If fasten seat belt chime stops, go to next step. If fasten seat belt chime does not stop, go to step 5 .
Repair open in Black/White wire between right instrument panel junction block and seat belt switch. After repairs, recheck system operation.
Remove terminal B1 (Black/White wire) from right instrument panel junction block connector C-2. If fasten seat belt chime stops, go to next step. If fasten seat belt chime does not stop, go to step 7 .
Replace right instrument panel junction block. After repairs, recheck system operation.
Disconnect air bag Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) connector. Turn ignition on. If fasten seat belt chime stops, go to next step. If fasten seat belt chime does not stop, go to step 9 .
Replace SDM. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article under RESTRAINTS. After repairs, recheck system operation.
Remove terminal B11 (Black/White wire) from Body Control Module (BCM) connector C-2. Use DVOM to measure resistance between Black/White wire terminal and ground. If reading is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If reading is greater than 2 ohms, go to step 11 .
Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - ALERO & GRAND AM article. After repairs, recheck system operation.
Repair open in Black/White wire between BCM and SDB connector terminal No. 8. After repairs, recheck system operation.
