Removal & Installation (Grand Am)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Grasp firmly and pull tilt lever from steering column. Remove steering column upper and lower covers. Remove instrument panel cluster trim plate. See Fig 1 . Remove instrument panel cluster screws. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove instrument panel cluster.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Reprogram instrument panel cluster. See PROGRAMMING  . Enable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
