Removal & Installation (Alero)

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Unsnap and remove instrument panel accessory trim plate. Disconnect accessory trim plate electrical connectors and remove bulb. Remove screws attaching IPC trim plate and remove trim plate. See Fig 1 . Remove instrument panel cluster screws. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove instrument panel cluster.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Reprogram instrument panel cluster. See PROGRAMMING . Enable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
