Circuit Description

DTC B1488 determines if a fault exists that causes the generator L-terminal to be continuously HIGH with engine running. DTC B1488 will set in the IPC when the engine is off and ignition 1 is active and the PCM sends the L-terminal HIGH class 2 serial data message for 30 seconds. DTC B1488 will set and the IPC will turn on the charge indicator light.
