Circuit Description

DTC B1487 determines if a fault exists that causes the generator L-terminal to be continuously LOW with engine running. DTC B1487 will set in the IPC when the engine is running and the PCM does not send the L-terminal HIGH class 2 serial data message for 30 seconds after the engine is started. DTC B1487 will set and the IPC will turn on the charge indicator light. The IPC history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles with no current DTCs present throughout duration.
