Diagnostic Procedures
- Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) connector. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Using test light connected to ground, backprobe IPC harness connector terminal A5 (Pink wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 4 .
- Repair short to voltage in Pink wire between IPC and CLUSTER fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to step 15 .
- Leave test light connected as indicated in step 2 . Turn ignition on. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 6 .
- Turn ignition off. Using test light connected to ground, frontprobe IPC harness connector terminal A6 (Purple wire). If test light comes on, go to step 7 . If test light does not come on, go to step 8 .
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between IPC and CRANK SIGNAL fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to step 15 .
- Repair short to voltage in Purple wire between IPC and CRANK SIGNAL fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to step 15 .
- Leave test light connected as indicated in step 5 . Turn ignition switch to START position. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 10 .
- Turn ignition off. Using test light connected to ground, backprobe between IPC harness connector terminal A2 (Purple wire). If test light comes on, go to step 12 . If test light does not come on, go to step 11 .
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between IPC and CRANK SIGNAL fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to step 15 .
- Leave test light connected as indicated in step 9 . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If test light comes on, go to step 13 . If test light does not come on, go to step 14 .
- Repair short to battery voltage in Purple wire between IPC and IGN 0 fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to step 15 .
- Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacing IPC, go to step 15 .
- Repair poor connection or open in Purple wire between IPC and IGN 0 fuse (10-amp) in fuse block. After repairs, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect all connectors and components. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Recheck for IPC DTCs. If any IPC DTCs reset, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DTC DEFINITIONS table. If DTCs do not reset, system is okay.
