Circuit Description

IPC receives voltage inputs from 3 different ignition signals. Voltage is sent from IGN 0 fuse when ignition switch is in OFF, RUN or START position. Voltage is sent from CLUSTER fuse when ignition switch is in RUN, BULB TEST or START position. Voltage is sent from CRANK SIGNAL fuse when ignition switch is in START position.

DTC B0608 will set when IPC does not see any of the following voltage input conditions for more than 3 seconds:

• If IGN 1 is active and IGN 0 is inactive.
• If CRANK is active and IGN 0 is inactive.
• If CRANK is active and IGN 1 is inactive. When DTC B0608 is set, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator light will come on.

Under all fault conditions, a current DTC requires an ignition cycle to become a history code. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles. DTC will also clear when scan tool is used to clear codes.
