Test B: Abs Warning Indicator Inoperative

  1. Perform diagnostic system check. See DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select MISC TESTS and then LAMP TEST. Using scan tool, turn ABS warning indicator on. If indicator illuminates, go to next step. If indicator does not illuminate, go to step 4).
  3. Using scan tool, select MISC TESTS and then LAMP TEST. Using scan tool, flash ABS warning indicator. If indicator does not flash, go to next step. If indicator flashes, go to step 7).
  4. Check all connectors and terminals for poor terminal contact and corrosion. If connectors or terminals are faulty, go to next step. If connectors and terminals are okay, go to step 6).
  5. Replace faulty terminals. After repairs, perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  6. Repair instrument cluster. After repairs, perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  7. Malfunction is not currently present. An intermittent may be caused by a poor connection, rubbed through wire insulation, or a broken wire inside insulation. Scan tool LAMP TEST function can be used to command indicator on while checking for an intermittent malfunction in ABS warning indicator circuitry. Frequency of malfunction can be determined by using enhanced diagnostic function of scan tool. Check for backed out terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly formed or damaged terminals, poor terminal-to-wiring connections, or damaged wiring harness.
