Front Brake Rotor: Installation

  1. Clean the metal contact surfaces between the brake rotor and the hub bearing flange. Install brake rotor, aligning marks made during removal. Clean and visually inspect threads of the caliper bracket bolts and mounting holes in the knuckle. Apply GM(R) Threadlocker (12345493 US; 10953488 Canada) or equivalent to the threads of the brake caliper bracket bolts. Install the caliper bracket. Tighten caliper bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install brake caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  . Apply brakes several times to seat pads. Install wheel/tire assembly, aligning marks made during removal. Tighten wheel lug nuts to specification in a criss-cross pattern. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower vehicle. Road-test vehicle.
