Gauge Cluster (Bonneville With Boost Gauge)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C1, terminal A7 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  2. If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster connector C2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminal A10 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  3. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminal A10 (Pink wire) and connector C1, terminal B8, then between terminals A10 (Pink wire) and B9 (Black/White wire). If battery voltage is not measured in both cases, check Black/White wire for an open circuit.
  4. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C2, terminal A10 (Pink wire), and connector C1, terminal A14 (Black wire). If battery voltage is not present, check Black wire for an open circuit.
  5. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C1, terminal A1 (Orange wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange wire for an open circuit. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C1, terminal B1 (Orange wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange wire for an open circuit.
  6. If battery voltage is present, measure voltage between instrument cluster connector C1, terminal B12 (Yellow wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Yellow wire for an open circuit.
  7. If battery voltage is present, check instrument cluster connector C1 for good terminal contact at terminals A7, B8, B9, A1, B1, B12, and A14. Also check instrument cluster connector C2 for good terminal contact at terminals A10 and A1, and repair as necessary. If all circuits are okay, replace instrument cluster.
