Removal & Installation (Eighty Eight)
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Pull instrument panel molding rearward and remove. See Fig 1
. Pry windshield defroster grille upward. Disconnect sunload sensor and twilight sentinel sensor electrical connectors. Rotate sensors 1/4 turn to release, and remove sensors. Remove windshield defroster grille.
- Remove screws from cluster trim plate. See Fig 1
. Tilt top of cluster trim plate rearward, then pull bottom of trim plate rearward. Disconnect A/C-heater control head and headlight switch electrical connectors. Disconnect A/C-heater control head vacuum harness connector. Push one side of A/C-heater control head and headlight switch outward. Remove A/C-heater control head and headlight switch from cluster trim plate.
- Remove upper trim pad screws and remove upper trim pad. Disconnect PRNDL cable from instrument cluster (if equipped). Remove instrument cluster screws. Pull instrument cluster rearward and disconnect electrical connectors. Remove instrument cluster.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten instrument cluster screws to 14 INCH lbs. (1.6 N.m.). Tighten all other screws to 17 INCH lbs. (1.9 N.m).
