Pressure Bleeding
- Deplete vacuum reserve from power brake booster by depressing brake pedal several times with engine off. Clean master cylinder reservoir cap and surrounding area. Remove cap. Ensure diaphragm type pressure bleeder tank at least 1/2 full of brake fluid and charged with 20-25 psi (1.41-1.76 kg/cm2 ) air pressure. Connect bleeder tank to master cylinder using proper adapter(s) and open line valve.
- Raise and support vehicle. Attach transparent bleeder tube to first bleeder valve to be serviced. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE table under MANUAL BLEEDING. Place other end of tube in a clean transparent container. Partially fill container with clean brake fluid until end of tube is submerged in fluid.
- Open first bleeder valve 3/4 of a turn. When fluid flowing into container is clear and free of bubbles, tighten bleeder valve to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Open each remaining bleeder valve in turn to finish bleeding system. Disconnect pressure tank from master cylinder. Check brake fluid level. Fill as necessary. Pressure bleed system using Tech 1 scan tool "Auto Bleed" sequence. Repeat steps 2) and 3).
