PRNDL Segments Inoperative/Inaccurate
- Turn ignition on. Shift gear selector into Park. Using Tech 1 scan tester, read PRNDL display. Check if Tech 1 display matches TECH 1 PRNDL DISPLAY table for Park position. If display matches, go to next step. If display does not match, go to step 3).

- Compare Tech 1 display in each gear select position to TECH 1 PRNDL DISPLAY table. If Tech 1 display matches table for all combinations, replace IPC. If Tech 1 display does not match table for all combinations, check suspect circuit for an open or short to ground.
- If Tech 1 does not display HI for all inputs, go to next step. If Tech 1 displays HI for all inputs, check Black/White wire for an open circuit. If wiring is okay, check all in-line connectors for good terminal contact. Also check Park/Neutral switch for correct operation. If all components are okay, replace IPC.
- If Tech 1 displays LO for all inputs, go to next step. If Tech 1 does not display LO for all inputs, move gear selector from Park to Drive. Repair circuit which corresponds to input that does not change.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect in-line ground connector at Black/White wire. Turn ignition on. If Tech 1 displays HI for all inputs, replace park/neutral switch. If Tech 1 does not display HI for all inputs, check all PRNDL input circuits for a short to ground. If circuits are okay, replace IPC.
