Oil Pressure Inaccurate
- Turn ignition on. If Driver Information Center (DIC) displays OIL PRESSURE SENDER PROB., go to next step. If DIC does not display OIL PRESSURE SENDER PROB., go to step 5).
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure sensor/switch connector. Connect jumper wire between oil pressure sensor/switch harness connector terminals "A" (Tan wire) and ground. Turn ignition on. Press SELECT button to display oil pressure on DIC.
- If low oil pressure light comes on, check sensor/switch Black/White wire for an open circuit or high resistance. Check in-line connector for good terminal contact at terminal A1 (Black/White wire). Also check sensor/switch connector for good terminal contact at terminals "A" (Tan wire) and "B" (Black/White wire). If all circuits are okay, replace oil pressure sensor/switch.
- If low oil pressure light does not come on, check Tan wire for an open circuit or high resistance. Check in-line connector for good terminal contact at terminal A4 (Tan wire). Also check IPC connector C2 for good terminal contact at terminal E2 (Tan wire). If all circuits are okay, replace IPC.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect oil pressure sensor/switch. Connect 2 Red wires from Tester (J 33431) to sensor/switch terminals "A" (Tan wire) and "B" (Black/White wire). Turn ignition on. Set tester resistance dials to zero ohms (zero psi), then 86 ohms (80 psi). Press SELECT button to display oil pressure on DIC.
- If oil pressure display shows zero psi at zero ohms and 80 psi at 86 ohms, check oil pressure sensor/switch connector for good terminal contact. If connection is okay, replace oil pressure sensor/switch.
- If oil pressure display does not show zero psi at zero ohms and 80 psi at 86 ohms, check Tan and Black/White wires for a short to ground, open circuit, or high resistance. Check in-line connector for good terminal contact at terminals A4 (Tan wire) and A1 (Black wire). Also check IPC connector C2 for good contact at terminal E2 (Tan wire). If all circuits are okay, replace IPC.
