IPC Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IPC connector C1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between IPC connector C1 terminal D9 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IPC connector C2. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2 terminal F16 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit between splice and IPC.
  3. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2, terminals F16 (Pink wire) and F7 (Black/White wire), then to terminal F8 (Black/White wire). If battery voltage is present in all cases, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present in all cases, check Black/White wiring for an open circuit.
  4. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2, terminal F16 (Pink wire) and E11 (Black wire), then to terminal E12 (Black wire). If battery voltage is present in all cases, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present in all cases, check Black wiring for an open circuit.
  5. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2, terminal F5 (Pink wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Pink wire for an open circuit.
  6. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2, terminal F4 (Light Green wire) and ground. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check Light Green wire for an open circuit.
  7. Turn ignition off. Measure voltage between IPC connector C2, terminal F3 (Orange wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange wire for an open circuit. If battery voltage is present, check IPC connector C1 for good contact at terminal D9 (Pink wire). Also check IPC connector C2 for good contact at all previously checked terminals. If all circuits are okay, replace IPC.
