Gauge Indicates Empty Test

Disconnect Purple wire at fuel gauge sender. Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge indicates full, repair or replace fuel gauge sender or related wiring. If gauge still indicates empty, check Purple wire for a short to ground. If Purple wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
