Indicator Inoperative

If brake warning indicator is on with ignition switch in RUN position, but indicator is off with parking brake applied, disconnect parking brake switch connector.
Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a fused jumper wire between parking brake switch connector and ground. Brake warning indicator should be on.
If indicator is on, check for poor parking brake switch connection. If connection is okay, replace parking brake switch. On models without Daytime Running Lights (DRL), if indicator is off, check circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire) for open.
On models with DRL, if indicator is off, disconnect DRL module connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between Tan/White wire and ground. If brake warning indicator is on, repair open in Tan/White wire.
If indicator is off, check circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire) for open. If indicator is on, check for poor DRL module connection. If connection is okay, replace DRL module.
Connect a fused jumper wire between Tan/White and Light Blue wires. Brake warning indicator should be on. If indicator is off, check circuit No. 1134 (Light Blue wire) between DRL module and parking brake switch for open.
If indicator is on, check for poor DRL module connection. If connection is okay, replace DRL module.
If brake warning indicator is off with ignition switch in RUN position, disconnect ignition switch in-line 48-pin connector (located behind instrument panel, to right of steering column).
Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a fused jumper wire between Tan/White wire and ground. Brake warning indicator should be on.
If indicator is off, check circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire) for open. If indicator is on, check 48-pin connector terminals. If connector terminals are okay, replace ignition switch.
