Gauge Is Inoperative Or Inaccurate

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If oil pressure gauge indicates low or no pressure, go to step 3). If gauge does not indicate low or no pressure, disconnect fuel pump switch/oil pressure sender connector.
  2. If oil pressure gauge indicates normal oil pressure, replace fuel pump switch/oil pressure sender. If oil pressure gauge does not indicate normal oil pressure, check for short to ground in Tan wire or for an open in-line resistor. If Tan wire and in-line resistor are okay, replace instrument cluster.
  3. Disconnect fuel pump switch/oil pressure sender connector. If oil pressure gauge indicates normal oil pressure, replace fuel pump switch/oil pressure sender. If oil pressure gauge does not indicate normal oil pressure, check for short to ground in Tan wire or for an open in-line resistor. If Tan wire and in-line resistor are okay, replace instrument cluster.
