Indicator Does Not Light With Coolant Level Low

  1. Disconnect coolant level switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect a jumper wire between coolant level switch connector terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground.
  2. If low coolant indicator lights, go to next step. If indicator does not light, check for bad indicator bulb and for open in Yellow/Black wire. Also check for poor connections at instrument cluster. If bulb, Yellow/Black wire and connections are okay, replace instrument cluster.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between coolant level switch connector terminals "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and "C" (Black/White wire). If low coolant indicator remains on, check for poor connections between coolant level switch and instrument cluster. If connections are okay, replace coolant level switch. If indicator goes out, check for poor connections at coolant level switch or for open in Black/White wire between coolant level switch and ground. Repair or replace as necessary.
