Temperature Gauge & Sender Test

  1. Ensure engine is not overheating. Enter diagnostics and ensure PCM codes E014 and E015 are not set. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Ensure BCM code B450 is not set. If any codes are set, perform necessary repairs and clear codes before continuing test procedure.
  2. Measure actual coolant temperature. Select PCM Data Input ED04 and note data display. If PCM Data Input ED04 and data display are not approximately equal, replace coolant temperature sender.
