Oil Pressure Gauge Incorrect Test

  1. Enter self-diagnostics, and check if BCM diagnostic code B132 is set. If Code B132 is set, repair as required. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If no codes are present, go to next step.
  2. Determine if engine has a high or low oil pressure condition by removing oil pressure sensor. Connect a known good mechanical oil pressure gauge to vehicle. If oil pressure is okay, go to next step.
  3. Unplug oil pressure sensor. Oil pressure sensor is located on right side of engine, above drive axle. With ignition switch in RUN position, connect a voltmeter between terminal "A" (Light/Green wire) and ground. If voltmeter indicates 5 volts, replace oil pressure sensor. If 5 volts are not present, go to next step.
  4. Using a voltmeter, backprobe terminal 3C3 (Light Green wire) of BCM to ground. BCM is located behind right side of instrument panel, behind left side of instrument panel compartment. If 5 volts are present, check and repair wiring connections as necessary. If 5 volts are not present, check Light Green wire for a short to ground. If wire is okay, replace BCM.
