No Cluster Display Test

If no cluster display is present, refer to NO CLUSTER DISPLAY (CRT EQUIPPED) or NO CLUSTER DISPLAY (NON-CRT EQUIPPED) flow charts. See Fig 1 through Fig 4 .

A loss of Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) display and messages can result from:

  1. Checks to see if BCM is functioning.
  2. Checks BCM power and ground sources.
  3. Checks to see if BCM has lost power or ground.
  4. Checks for ignition source, power and ground to IPC. Normally with ignition switch ON, battery voltage should be present at listed terminals.
  5. Checks for a short to ground in any No. 640 circuits.
  6. Checks to see if short is inside a component or in circuit.
  7. Checks to see if IPC is receiving wake-up signal from BCM.
