No Cluster Display Test
If no cluster display is present, refer to NO CLUSTER DISPLAY (CRT EQUIPPED) or NO CLUSTER DISPLAY (NON-CRT EQUIPPED) flow charts. See Fig 1 through Fig 4 .
A loss of Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) display and messages can result from:
- Loss of 12-volt power to IPC.
- Loss of ground to IPC.
- Loss of wake-up signal from BCM.
- Internal BCM or IPC fault.NOTE: Numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks to see if BCM is functioning.
- Checks BCM power and ground sources.
- Checks to see if BCM has lost power or ground.
- Checks for ignition source, power and ground to IPC. Normally with ignition switch ON, battery voltage should be present at listed terminals.
- Checks for a short to ground in any No. 640 circuits.
- Checks to see if short is inside a component or in circuit.
- Checks to see if IPC is receiving wake-up signal from BCM.
