Oil Pressure Gauge Test

  1. If oil pressure gauge does not read correctly, remove connector and Tan wire from oil pressure sender. Clip one lead of Tester (J-33431) to Tan wire connector and one lead to ground.
  2. Place ignition switch in "RUN" position. Set resistance control on tester to 4 ohms, 44 ohms and 90 ohms. Gauge should indicate low, midscale and high respectively.
  3. If gauge does not read correctly, disconnect tester and check Tan wire for battery voltage. If voltage is present, wire is okay. Install a new oil pressure gauge. If gauge reads correctly, install a new oil pressure sender unit.
