Fluid Filling Powermaster

NOTE: Bench bleed master cylinder portion of Powermaster before installing unit on vehicle.
  1. Fill both sides of reservoir to full marks on inside of reservoir. Use only clean, new brake fluid meeting DOT specifications shown on reservoir cover.
  2. Turn ignition on. With pump running, brake fluid level in booster side of reservoir should decrease as brake fluid fills accumulator. If booster side of reservoir begins to run dry, add brake fluid to just cover reservoir pump port until pump stops.
    NOTE: Pump must shut off within 20 seconds. Turn ignition off after 20 seconds have elapsed. Check for leaks or flow back into reservoir from booster return port.
  3. Properly install reservoir cover assembly on reservoir. Turn ignition off and apply and release brake pedal 10 times. Remove reservoir cover and adjust booster fluid level to full mark.
  4. Turn ignition on. Pump will run and refill accumulator. Make sure that pump does not run longer than 20 seconds and that fluid level remains above pump sump port in reservoir.
  5. Properly install reservoir cover. With ignition on, apply and release brake pedal to cycle pump on and off 10-15 cycles and remove air from booster section. Do not allow pump to run more than 20 seconds for each cycle. Recheck high and low reservoir fluid levels. Pump should not cycle without brake applications.
