Gauge & Sender Test

  1. If oil pressure gauge does not read correctly, remove connector and Tan wire from oil pressure sender. Clip one lead of Tester (KM J-33431-A) to Tan wire connector and one lead to ground.
  2. Place ignition in "RUN" position Set resistance control on tester to 4 ohms. Gauge should read "L" (or low). Set resistance control to 90 ohms. Gauge should read "H" (or high).
  3. If gauge does not read correctly, disconnect tester and check Tan wire for battery voltage. If voltage is present, wire is okay. Install a new oil pressure gauge. If gauge reads correctly, install a new oil pressure sender unit.
