Removal (Calais)

  1. Pinch 4 (upper and lower) steering column collar slide clips together at bottom seam and remove steering column collar. Detach 4 screws from steering column opening filler cover, then pull filler downward to remove. See Fig 1 .
  2. Detach mount screws from cluster trim cover (electronic cluster has 2 screws behind steering column collar), then pull trim cover rearward to remove. Detach 3 screws from rear of left hand sound insulator. Remove 2 nuts from cowl studs, then pull left hand sound insulator rearward and down to remove.
  3. Detach 2 right hand sound insulator mount screws from upper rail. Remove 2 nuts from cowl studs. Pull sound insulator rearward and down to remove. See Fig 1 .
  4. Open glove compartment door and remove 7 mount screws. Unclip glove compartment door stop strap. Pull glove compartment rearward to remove. Detach 2 mount screws from right hand trim cover. Unclip trim from slots and pull rearward to remove.
  5. Unclip left hand trim cover and pull rearward to remove. Detach 3 screws from lower center trim cover and pull rearward to remove. See Fig 1 .
