Brake System Warning Indicator
The brake system warning indicator will light when brake hydraulic pressure is lost or when parking brake is applied. On vehicles equipped with "Power Master Brake System", indicator will come on to warn of low brake accumulator hydraulic pressure.
With ignition switch turned slowly past "RUN" position, brake indicator should come on before ignition switch reaches "START" position. With ignition switch in "RUN" position and parking brake on, brake indicator should come on. With parking brake released and ignition switch off, brake pedal should be pumped several times (until more pedal resistance is felt). The brake indicator will come on, brake reservoir pump motor will operate and then brake indicator will go off.
When the brake accumulator pressure switch senses an accumulator hydraulic pressure of 400 psi or less, switch will close.
