Gauge & Sender Test

  1. If oil pressure gauge does not read correctly, remove connector and wire (Tan) from oil pressure sender. Clip 1 lead of Tester (KM J-33431-A) to wire (Tan) connector and 1 lead to ground.
  2. Place ignition in "Run" position. Set resistance controls on tester to 4 ohms. Gauge should read "L" (or low). Set resistance controls to 90 ohms. Gauge should read "H" (or high).
  3. If gauge does not read correctly, disconnect tester and check wire (Tan) for battery voltage. If voltage is present, wire is good. Install a new oil pressure gauge. If gauge reads correctly, install a new oil pressure sender unit.
