Oil Pressure/Choke Indicator

If indicator lamp does not light, first check gauges fuse. Replace fuse if needed. If the oil pressure/choke indicator light does not go off after the engine is started, check voltage at oil pressure switch.
On Ciera V6 models, there should be battery voltage at wire (Tan), with engine running. If there is adequate oil level and oil pressure, and no voltage to wire (Tan), replace oil pressure switch.
On Calais V8 models, there should be no voltage at the wire (Tan) with engine running at fast idle. If oil level and oil pressure are good, and battery voltage is present at wire (Tan), replace oil pressure switch.
If the oil pressure/choke indicator does not light with ignition switch in "Run" position and bulb is good, check (on Ciera V6 models) for an open choke heater.
On Calais V8 models, ensure oil pressure switch is closed when engine is off. If there is battery voltage at the wire (Tan) to the switch, install a new oil pressure switch.
