Removal (Toronado)
- Remove left hand trim cover, telltale lens and housing. Remove trip odometer knob by turning counterclockwise. Remove 2 cluster lens and face plate mount screws. Disconnect shift indicator cable end at shift indicator pointer.
- Remove 3 screws attaching speedometer to cluster housing. If printed circuit is to be removed, detach 2 screws attaching upper gauge assemblies to cluster housing. Pull assemblies rearward to remove.
- Remove 2 screws attaching lower cluster housing to cluster carrier. Disconnect speedometer cable at transmission (or at transducer on cruise control equipped vehicles).
- Pull cluster housing rearward far enough to reach behind it and disconnect speedometer cable (by depressing clip). Remove screw attaching speed sensor pick-up to speedometer head. Remove cluster housing and speedometer assembly.NOTE: Before removing instrument panel lamp sockets, note color and position of each socket on cluster housing for reassembly reference.
- Remove 2 screws attaching back of cluster housing to speedometer, then remove speedometer. Remove indicator lamp sockets from behind cluster housing by twisting sockets counterclockwise.
- Remove gauge terminal clips from cluster housing by prying with small screwdriver. Remove printed circuit.
