Removal (88 & 98)
- Remove 4 center trim cover (steering column) mount screws. Move gear selector to "1" position (manual low). Carefully pull center trim cover rearward and from instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
- With center trim cover removed, detach 7 mount screws from top portion of lower trim cover. Detach 4 mount screws from lower portion and 2 mount screws (1 on each side) from lower trim cover.
- Pull lower instrument panel trim cover rearward enough to unplug the ashtray light and cigar lighter connector. Carefully remove lower trim cover by pulling rearward and from instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
- Detach 3 gauge cluster trim cover mount screws. If equipped, disconnect shift indicator cable. Remove gauge cluster trim cover and cluster mounting assembly by pulling rearward and from instrument panel.
- Cluster mounting assembly may be removed from trim cover by detaching 5 mount screws from cluster. If equipped, Auto-Calculator may be removed from cluster mounting by detaching 4 mount screws.
